The Main Auditorium is one of the most important venues for the staging of cultural events in Portugal and the largest room at the Centro Cultural de Belém. It is designed to host all manner of artistic productions, concerts and shows requiring great technical proficiency, and is also equipped for the organisation of large-scale meetings, such as congresses and conferences, functioning as a large room for the holding of plenary sessions.
The room is entered via two large foyers that can be used as exhibition spaces and/or for catering purposes; the level 2 foyer also leads onto a terrace overlooking the River Tagus. The Main Auditorium can also be joined with the Small Auditorium and the other rooms of the CCB to host large congresses, with several sessions taking place at the same time.
