Temporary Title (2015) is an exhibition where visitors enter and leave at will. This situation is made possible by performers who form and dissolve groups or assemblies, creating an ever-evolving landscape. The performers’ actions and presences, sometimes engaging in conversation with the public, oscillate between recognisable and unrecognisable appearances displaying sculptural, animal, vegetal, or mechanical features.
Building upon materials developed for low pieces, this work questions the boundaries between human and inhuman; object and subject; and transformation, transition, and modification. At first sight, it may appear as something external to contemplate, but the length of the visit renders it a landscape in which we find ourselves—a situation for us to experience, a space where our perception might outpace than our actions, or where time perhaps can wait.
