Show + Talk – Premiere
At home, when we judge ourselves alone, we listen to old recordings and begin to imagine that we are there, where the recording takes place. Then, the characters start to seem real to us. The world changes. Returning to what it was before this exercise of imagination is difficult.
This show invites viewers to reflect on how their life/childhood stories are told and the political importance of imagination – facing its impacts in the real world. It aims to remind us that we are all readers and creators of narratives.
Inspired by texts by Walter Benjamin and Samuel Beckett, written by Guilherme Gomes for three performers and a recorder, Benjamim Radio shows us how «telling stories is an art and creating narratives [is] a tool.»
