In C A R C A Ç A [C A R C A S S], a cast of ten performers uses dance as a tool to explore community, collective identity development, memory and cultural crystallization. They go from footwork that is familiar to them, originating in clubbing, balls, battles and cyphers, and from the studio to address standardised and unchanging folk dances they inherited and revisit. They talk about they inherited and what they experience. How does one decide to forget and turn into memory? What role do individual identities play in the making of a community? What is its driving force?
