Num futuro próximo, uma família é separada ao escapar da sua terra natal, devastada pelo impacto das mudanças climáticas. Chegando sozinha numa cidade moderna deserta, e com animais selvagens a reivindicarem as ruas como suas, a criança descobre rapidamente aliados improváveis nesta estranha nova selva.
Na nova produção de dança/teatro de Akram Khan, baseada na história original O Livro da Selva, o clássico familiar de Rudyard Kipling, Akram e a sua equipa reinventam a viagem de Mogli através dos olhos de um refugiado climático.
Contando com uma banda sonora original, dez bailarinas/os internacionais e animação e recursos visuais de última geração, Jungle Book reimagined é um espetáculo convincente e vital sobre a nossa necessidade intrínseca de pertencer e de nos relacionarmos com as outras pessoas. No centro do espetáculo está a importância de nos relacionarmos com e de respeitarmos o mundo natural.
Jungle Book reimagined reúne uma equipa criativa de sonho, com argumento de Tariq Jordan, dramaturgia de Sharon Clark e música original de Jocelyn Pook. Com desenho de som de Gareth Fry, desenho de luz de Michael Hulls, cenografia de Miriam Buether, animação e video design de YeastCulture, a tecnologia visual transformará o palco num mundo mágico que mergulha nos mitos da atualidade.
