Published in London in 1734, during the peak of Handel’s operatic success in the British capital, the Concerti Grossi Op. 3 combine the composer’s signature eclectic style with the Italian tradition inherited from Arcangelo Corelli. The collection comprises six richly contrasted concertos, each made up of two to five diverse movements and often performed separately. This recording is performed by Les Musiciens du Louvre under the direction of Marc Minkowski, renowned specialists of the Baroque repertoire.
