Some composers write songs; others end up writing the memory of a country. Over several decades, Mário Pacheco has built one of the most distinctive bodies of work in contemporary Portuguese guitar. His melodies give rise to songs and fados performed by some of the greatest voices in Portuguese music, crossing generations, stages, and borders to become part of the emotional heritage of those who listen to Portuguese music around the world.
On December 17, Centro Cultural de Belém presents A Música de Mário Pacheco, a unique concert in which his work takes on a new dimension, shaped by the power and delicacy of the orchestra conducted by João Defesa.
The concert features João Barradas, Ricardo Toscano, and Fernando Dalcin as guests, with a very special appearance by Jaques Morelenbaum and artistic direction by Diogo Clemente. More than a concert, it is an encounter with music that has already become part of all our lives.
