Teixeira de Freitas Collection
Conceived and assembled by Luiz Teixeira de Freitas, a Brazilian collector residing in Portugal for over three decades, the Teixeira de Freitas Collection has defined its primary pillars of growth within the realms of conceptual art, architecture, landscape, literature, ephemeral art, and artist’s books.
Luiz Augusto Teixeira de Freitas, a Brazilian lawyer who has been working in Portugal for more than 30 years, channelled his passion for art into crafting an extensive collection with distinctive attributes. Primarily assembled between 2000 and 2014, the Teixeira de Freitas Collection mirrors the values and dynamics of the arts ecosystem in which it took shape.
While it stands as an undeniably global collection owing to the artists featured, it consistently directs attention to art produced in Brazil and Portugal. This characteristic renders the collection particularly apt for delving into discussions pertaining to Portuguese-Brazilian issues.
