Closing the month of July, Orquestra XX visits the Centro Cultural de Belém with a program dedicated to the Concerto for Orchestra by Béla Bartók. Marked by a concertante and virtuosic writing, following the composer’s move to the United States of America, it would quickly become one of the great classics of the contemporary repertoire for orchestra. With musical direction by Dinis Sousa, this program will also cover the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 by Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky, by the soloist Valeriy Sokolov, and the overture Inês de Castro, by José Vianna da Motta.
