The opera Così fan tutte is performed as a farce, full of unexpected events and misunderstandings. But it is also a philosophical and moral reflection on love, a caricature of romantic sentimentalism, a bittersweet reflection on the faithfulness of women… and much more. In and between the lines of the score, the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart adds everything that the words of the librettist decline to mention.
Now, in a concert version, we have the opportunity to revisit the clever provocations of Don Alfonso, the boasts of Ferrando and Guglielmo, the weaknesses of Fiordiligi and Dorabella, and the crafty schemes of Despina. The cast is of the highest quality, bringing together a handful of the country’s best lyrical voices backed by the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, conducted by Pedro Amaral.
