For years, those familiar with the Portuguese music scene have recognised the name Margarida Campelo—a distinctive and recurring presence in performances and concerts by Bruno Pernadas, Cassete Pirata, Joana Espadinha, and Minta & The Brook Trout, among many other bands and artists. She made her solo debut in 2023 with Supermarket Joy, an album that explores the territories of pop, soul, R&B, and experimental jazz with remarkable mastery. Acclaimed unanimously by the Portuguese press, the record paved the way for a new album, due for release in 2026.
Following the release of Mexe-te Mais um Pouco, Margarida Campelo began 2025 with the ballad Eu Sei Que o Amor, a finalist in Portugal’s Festival da Canção. The song later crossed the Atlantic, travelling to Brazil with her quartet.
