Conference
As a preamble to the presentation of The Duel (25 and 26 November), directed by Carlos Pimenta, we are promoting four sessions in which we reflect about this work written by Kleist, in 1811. We will reflect on the dichotomies to be found in this novella, where the confrontation that gives the story its name, under the scope of divine arbitrariness, seems to be the only fair way for humanity to gauge honour and honesty.
These sessions will be chaired by Carlos Pimenta, with the participation of the philosopher Maria Filomena Molder, who translated, and has now adapted, this text staged by Carlos Pimenta, as well as the teachers and essayists José Bragança de Miranda and José Gomes Pinto.
