O Duelo [The Duel] is a novella written in 1811 by Heinrich von Kleist and considered by Thomas Mann to be one of the greatest works in German literature. With a romantic plot resembling that of a detective story, Heinrich von Kleist, one of Kafka’s favourite authors, composes a surprising and expressionistic story in which nothing is what it seems, and in which God is not needed quite so much as one might expect. Directed by Carlos Pimenta, based on the translation and stage adaptation by Maria Filomena Molder, and performed by Miguel Loureiro.
