In his presentation Brandlhuber will discuss the role of time-based media, such as videos and (web) television, for the production of space and the architectural discourse at large. Arno Brandlhuber works as an architect and urban planner. In 2006 he founded Brandlhuber+ (Berlin), a practice dedicated to the idea of collaboration with other architectural offices and disciplines. The work of Brandlhuber+ ranges from buildings to research projects, exhibitions to publications and political interventions. It deals with aspects of legislation and its effects on architectural and urban production.

Critical Distance 2019

Together with the artist and director Christopher Roth, Brandlhuber+ produced the film-series “Legislating Architecture” (2016), “The Property Drama” (2017) and “Architecting after Politics” (2018). The latter is part of an on-going travelling exhibition, which deals with the economization of space. Since 2017 Brandlhuber holds a professorship for architecture and design at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich) where he is focusing on the role of new media and technology, as arguments for future architecture.
