Zé Maria presents his second album, Ama e Faz o que Quiseres, revealing a new chapter in an artistic journey that has steadily established itself on the contemporary Fado scene. An heir to Lisbon’s Fado tradition, yet with a language of his own, the singer has developed a distinctive body of work in which memory and the contemporary, interpretative sensitivity and the authenticity of the sung word coexist.
Following his debut album, released by Museu do Fado, Zé Maria continues to explore Fado’s potential for renewal, with particular attention to its poetic message and its ability to move audiences.
Ama e Faz o que Quiseres is an album of Fado and songs united by the idea of Love — in its many forms — as the foundation of human experience and fulfilment. Once again, Zé Maria has written some of the new songs himself, alongside Tiago Torres da Silva, Teresinha Landeiro, José Quintela, Bernardo Couto and João Filipe.
