Música Erudita
Rather than approaching music as something continuous and self-contained, this programme invites audiences to listen to it as a construction made up of distinct, independent parts, almost like a living organism.
Through repetition, variation and the combination of small gestures, words, sounds and motifs, the works explore different forms of fragmentation and relationships between autonomous elements. Throughout the programme, the voices remain in constant balance, moving closer together and further apart, creating soundscapes that evoke ideas of echo, light, openness and attraction. Fragmentation is presented not as dispersion, but as an organising principle capable of creating unity from diversity.
Inspired by the tension between fragmentation and attraction, Filaments of the Voice establishes a dialogue between contemporary vocal music and the exhibition May I Help You?, giving voice to a reflection on the roles, voices and narratives that shape the art world.
On the days when the Music at the Museum Series takes place, Antena 2’s programme A Voz das Cores, created by Andrea Lupi, will be entirely dedicated to the concert and the artworks on display at MAC/CCB.
Guided tour by João Mateus at 3:30pm.
