A six-part project dedicated to the Cancioneiro de Elvas, a Portuguese manuscript dating from the third quarter of the sixteenth century. Presented in two parts, the project performs all sixty-five secular songs preserved in the codex—vilancetes (villancicos), cantigas, tercets, and other poetic-musical forms (Volumes 1–3)—and commissions new music by Filipe Faria and Sérgio Peixoto for the thirty-six romances, glosses, vilancetes, and cantigas preserved in the manuscript without music (Volumes 4–6).
