The Choral Symphony, premiered 200 years ago, is a monumental work that challenged the artistic and ideological conventions of the time. Its final movement introduced solo voices and choir, culminating in the famous Hymn to Joy, based on Schiller’s poem, celebrating freedom and fraternity.
