Sexta Maior
In late 18th—to early 19th-century Portugal, sacred works accompanied by two cellos and two bassoons replaced the traditional orchestra. Ensemble Bonne Corde revives this distinctive sound, tied to the Patriarchal Chapel, with the modern premiere of Puzzi’s Messa a quattro voci (1793), alongside recording and score editions.
