Ensemble Palhetas Duplas, created in 2005 at the initiative of the oboist Francisco Luís Vieira, are an instrumental group composed of particularly homogenous sounds: oboe, cor anglais, oboe d’amore, bassoon and contrabassoon. Since their foundation, they have performed countless concerts at various festivals, all over Portugal, and in Spain too, involving the participation of dozens of highly reputed soloists and guest conductors.
At the CCB, they will be conducted by their special guest Francisco Sequeira, playing a programme that starts with Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks, and also includes works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Astor Piazzolla, Henry Purcell and Carlos Seixas.
