Recital
This programme follows a course held within the context of the «Âmbito Cultural» activities of El Corte Inglés.
The works presented here were some of those referred to throughout the sessions — each dedicated to a guiding idea — though at that time only excerpts were heard.
Mozart’s Fantasia in C minor arose in a discussion about musical architecture. Schumann’s Fantasia in C major, Op. 17, was one of the works mentioned in the session on the awakening of emotions, associating the theme of Love with the romance between Robert and Clara. Beethoven’s Sonata in A-flat major, Op. 110, perhaps the composer’s most autobiographical work, served as an example in a conversation about creative motivation.
The programme concludes with works illustrating some of the genres cultivated by Chopin — Polonaises, Nocturnes, and Ballades — which also allowed for a discussion of the performer’s craft.
