Music
Stacey Kent is one of the most recognised voices in contemporary jazz. With 13 studio albums and performances in more than 55 countries, the American singer has forged a distinctive career through a repertoire spanning jazz standards, French chanson, Brazilian music and original compositions.
Since 2006, many of these compositions have resulted from a collaboration between saxophonist Jim Tomlinson and Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Kazuo Ishiguro. Throughout her career, Stacey Kent has also worked with musicians such as Marcos Valle, Roberto Menescal and Danilo Caymmi, as well as the French string quartet Quatuor Ébène.
In A Time for Love, Stacey Kent presents the album of the same name, released in April 2026, accompanied by Jim Tomlinson on tenor saxophone and Art Hirahara on piano. The programme includes songs such as Lucky to Be Me, La Javanaise and A Time for Love, in an intimate concert shaped by the elegance of her voice and the interplay between piano and saxophone.
The Centro Cultural de Belém Foundation reserves the right to collect, store and use recordings of image, sound and voice, for the purposes of dissemination and for preserving the memory of its cultural and artistic activities, as well as its spaces.
