Tito Paris, Cape Verde’s highly cherished son, is the greatest ambassador for his country’s contemporary music. At the age of 19, he made his way to Lisbon, where he wrote songs for Bana and Cesária Évora and embarked on his own solo career. In 1996, he performed all over the world with the songs from his album Graça de Tchega, and the release of Guilhermina in 2002 turned his music into a cultural bridge between the countries of the Portuguese-speaking world. With a career spanning almost 40 years and regular performances in all four corners of the world, his work culminated in the award of the title of Commander of the Order of Merit in Portugal, marked by his return to recording with the release of Mim ê Bô.
