This concert is therefore a homage to these two composers, with works having been chosen that not only reveal the genius and inspiration of them both, but which also make it possible to highlight in each of these pieces of music the excellent work of the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra. With the works by Igor Stravinsky, each member of the orchestra is transformed into a soloist in the best spirit of the concerto tradition applied to the orchestra as a group. Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 <em>Piano Concerto No. 2<\/em> reveals to us one of the most beautiful scores ever written for piano and orchestra in the history of French romanticism, in this concert in which the pianist Ra\u00fal da Costa will join forces with the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2021 is the 100th anniversary of the death of Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns and the 50th anniversary of the death of Igor Stravinsky, two of the most important musical events of the year.
