It continues its long-standing tradition of supporting emerging talent \u2014 among them Nicola Benedetti, Jacqueline du Pr\u00e9, and Jan Pascal Tortellier, three of many young virtuosos who were encouraged by the LMP early in their careers.<\/p>\n<p>On their visit to Portugal, the renowned London ensemble will perform Shostakovich\u2019s <em>Cello Concerto No. 1<\/em>, featuring cellist Filipe Quaresma, and Mozart\u2019s final and monumental symphony, No. 41 <em>Jupiter<\/em>, a work of singular <em>grandeur<\/em> in Western music.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The London Mozart Players, the oldest chamber orchestra in the United Kingdom, was founded over 75 years ago by Harry Blech with the purpose of performing the works of Mozart and Haydn.
