Selma Uamusse amounts to much more than a simple combination of her various artistic adventures. Her music is a manifesto for the harmony that surrounds us, offering us a positive look at the world. A way of fighting and hoping for a freer society, with more love.<\/p>\n
Selma Uamusse\u2019s powerful voice and brilliant performances have helped her to shine in a wide variety of musical genres, ranging from projects such as WrayGunn and Cacique\u201997 to Gospel Collective and Rodrigo Le\u00e3o. Her versatility is also recognised in the theatre, cinema and visual arts.<\/p>\n
Her debut album was Mati in 2018<\/em>, in which she explored an organic encounter between her Mozambican roots, reflected in the lyrics, rhythms and traditional instrumentation of her songs, electronic music and a whole series of influences amassed over the years of performing and listening.<\/p>\n With her own distinct identity, aware of the past, but imagining the future, she followed this in 2020 with the release of her second album,\u00a0Liwoningo (<\/em>which means \u201clight\u201d in chope, a traditional Mozambican language), produced by Guilherme Kastrup, who won a Grammy for the albums\u00a0A Mulher do Fim do Mundo<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Deus \u00e9 Mulher of the highly acclaimed and equally award-winning<\/em> Elza Soares.
