SUMMARY:Easter Concert – A German Requiem by Brahms
DESCRIPTION:The German Requiem\, by Johannes Brahms\, is a work of consolation for the bereaved\, inspired by the deaths of his mentor Robert Schumann and his mother. Completed in 1868\, the piece uses biblical texts in German and distinguishes itself from traditional masses. With seven movements\, the funeral march in the 2nd and the interpellation to the divine in the 3rd stand out. The 5th movement\, with solo soprano\, is considered the peak of the work\, which premiered in 1869\, raising Brahms’ fame.
