DESCRIPTION:The Centro Cultural de Belém celebrates World Theatre Day with a diverse\, free-admission program. The program begins at 11:00 AM (a school session) with the performance Enciclopédia da Vida Sexual by Pedro Gil\, and it repeats at 8:00 PM for the general public. The play humorously explores emotional and family dilemmas through a comedic and engaging narrative. The World Theatre Day will also be celebrated with two activities by the Formiga Atómica company centred on Anton Chekhov’s play The Seagull: at 5:30 PM\, the conference Bandos de Gaivotas takes place\, moderated by Rui Pina Coelho\, where theatre makers share experiences about different stagings of Chekhov’s The Seagull; at 8:00 PM\, a staged reading entitled Uma Gaivota Comme Il Faut\, directed by Miguel Fragata brings Chekhov’s original text to life in an interactive approach with the audience.
