DESCRIPTION:Jenůfa by Leoš Janácek narrates Jenufa’s unrequited love for Števa\, with whom she is pregnant\, while Laca\, Števa’s half-brother\, loves her. Family conflicts in a village lead to tragedy\, and the opera ends with the wedding of Jenůfa and Laca. Composed over a decade and premiered in 1916\, the work reflects traditional Moravian music and established Janáček in Czech opera.
