SUMMARY:Les ombres portées (France)
DESCRIPTION:Les Somnambules [The Sleepwalkers] is a journey to a city in transition. An ancient borough doomed to be torn down makes way for a dehumanised modern city. As the nights go by\, and while the city is asleep\, the dreams of its inhabitants get intertwined and turn it into a place where anything can happen. Les Somnambules ironically and poetically evokes those contemporary urban transformations\, also outlining a city whose contours are redesigned by its inhabitants. This story takes place within a spectacular scale model\, animated by lighting and shadow effects\, and four puppeteers and two musicians who lead the audience in an imaginary drift. — Les ombres portées \n  \nCo-presentation with Teatro Municipal do Porto\, May 5th and 6th 2023 – National première. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Aida Sigharian Asl
DESCRIPTION:A collection of pieces named Moments\, pieces from different composers from different continents\, America\, Asia and Europe. \nAlireza Mashayekhi (1940)\, an Iranian composer is one of the first composers in Iran to represent avant-garde\, contemporary music. He has composed 15 short pieces with the name moments with folk Melodie’s from Iran. \nAlexandre Delgado (1965)\, a renounced Portuguese composer\, violist\, studied compositions with Jolly Braga Santos. The Três momentos were arranged from piano part for orchestra which was in São Carlos in 1985 but the piano version is the first time to be premiered in the world. \nAntonio Ribeiro (1971)\, he is the last student of Guarnieri in Brazil. His moments are similar to style of Chopin very virtuoso and poetic at the same time. \nCamargo Guarnieri (1907)\, is the most famous Brazilian composer after Villa- lobos. Guarnieri like Mashayekhi has very short pieces named moments. They reflect the facets Brazilian soul. \nAmy Beach (1867)\, first successful American female. She was one of the first American composers to succeed without the benefit of European training. She composed 4 sketches which I present Autumn and Dreaming. Often compared to that of Brahms or Rachmaninov. \nFarzia Fallah (1980)\, a successful female composer who started compositions with Alireza Mashayekhi. She completed her studies in Germany\, an intimate avant-guard composer. A fragment of a whole was composed in 2020 for the year of Beethoven. It is specially composed for the sonata op. 110\, an introductory piece which becomes part of the sonata. This Beethoven sonata is one of the last sonatas that he composed. A sonata form but not in a traditional Mozartian style\, but more in a complex way. You can’t say clearly how many movements the piece has. The last movement starts with Ariosa but followed by a Fugue\, a traditional form from 17th century\, the new style\, romanticism is overlapped by the fugue of the past. A poetic piece which yet is so real. \nEach piece in this program is resembling a moment in life. Moments since our birth to our present day\, moments we go through\, the pain\, the happiness\, the confusion and the poetry that life accompanies us.
