DESCRIPTION:And what if music were\, after all\, a Carnival mask? Would it cease to be the bearer of truth? The Metropolitan’s playful and jocular Carnival Concert clearly shows that one idea does not invalidate the other. Music constructs identities\, but it can also pervert them\, whenever it so wishes. So\, let us be heroes\, wrongdoers\, mythological creatures\, film stars… These are games of mirrors that enable us to see facets that are normally hidden in our day-to-day life. Because this is a «complex» subject\, the musicians of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra invite us not to think too much before accepting the challenge that is launched from here. The aim is to fill the stage and the audience with the most incredible beings that inhabit Planet Music. Come from home dressed as some “thing” that reminds you of your favourite music. Bring hats\, colourful scarves and magic wands\, paint your faces or wear false noses. You can leave the streamers and the music to us. And we’ll create the right atmosphere together.
