SUMMARY:Ghost Nature
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, since Companhia Maior was created in 2010\, an invitation is sent to an artist or collective to create a show. In 2020 the guest artist was Marco Martins. \nFaced with the impossibility brought by the pandemic to work with the company’s cast in a stage play\, Marco Martins\, in collaboration with Fernanda Fragateiro and Gonçalo M. Tavares\, created Ghost Nature. A multidisciplinary installation based on images from the old family albums of its interpreters and long interviews focusing on how domestic images fix and condition our memory\, in a constant paradox between a living testimony and a stationary time\, life maintained and postponed death. Images that summon childhood\, death\, the outdated past\, a completed and immobile time\, but also life’s capture\, suspended time\, the present past and the surprise.
