SUMMARY:Entering the territory of Wonder | Rita Pedro
DESCRIPTION:Accredited in-person training (18 contact hours) \n  \nJust as in Alice in Wonderland\, children\, with all their questions\, philosophies and constant demands to know “why”\, invite us to enter the territory of wonder. To do this\, we must make sure not only to go beyond the clearly defined boundaries of adult rationality\, but also to open ourselves up to the unexpected and the unpredictable\, which brings with it a new logic associated with Childhood. It boils down to welcoming the questions of children both inside and outside school\, as well as expanding the space of freedom of expression between the adult and the child. \n  \nRita Pedro has a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from Lisbon Nova University\, under the supervision of Professor José Gil\, and is a member of the team of researchers at the Laboratory of Research on Practical and Applied Philosophy at the University of the Aegean. Since 1999\, she has been coordinating and developing theoretical and practical research and training projects\, at the intersection between Childhood\, Philosophy\, Education and Art\, focusing in particular on the performing arts (Fábrica das Artes/CCB\, Comédias do Minho\, Teatro Luca). Since 2006\, she has been further developing this same research in different socio-economic and cultural contexts (Moinho da Juventude/Cova da Moura\, Atelier Mar/Cape Verde\, Museum of Ethnology).

SUMMARY:Teresa Vittucci
DESCRIPTION:Hot Spot – International Dance Solos \n«Solo for Future Feminism» is the subtitle of the newest solo HATE ME\, TENDER by Teresa Vittucci – a research on hate and feminism. In her work Vittucci curiously elaborates on the Virgin Mary\, one of the most crucial and defining female figures. With a gentle violence Vittucci begins to unravel the queer potential of a figure which is culturally seen as epitome of purity\, innocence and perfection\, icon of the compassionate woman and mourning mother. Revered by the church authorities in her function as the Mother of God\, criticised by feminist movements for the female stereotypes this figure has brought forth – the virgin has polarized generations\, not least for being a woman. In her solo Vittucci embarks on a tender crusade to reinstate the matriarch Mary in her role as a powerful heroine and ambassador of a queer feminism\, armed soley with the weapon of a vulnerable compassionate heart.

SUMMARY:Euripides Laskaridis
DESCRIPTION:Hot Spot – International Dance Solos \nIn a makeshift room\, decorated in a haphazard DIY fashion\, a performer puts his notably awkwardly shaped body under the magnifying glass. Magic comes from the mundane and references to cabaret\, vaudeville and slapstick abound. Greek artist Euripides Laskaridis is preoccupied by ideas about transformation and ridicule. By testing the limits of our acceptance of the incongruous and unfamiliar\, performer and audience alike will experience a moment of transcendence.
