SUMMARY:Lisbon Metropolitana Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:In this programme\, the Lisbon Metropolitana Orchestra and conductor Adrian Leaper bring together two great masters from the History of Music. Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel both had the gift of managing to create sound effects which are so effective that they cause us not to even notice how they are produced before our eyes. A good example of this is Scheherazade\, where the mystery of the music is emitted by imaginations that consume the words of the books and the palette of colours. Before this\, pianist António Rosado interprets Ravel’s famous Concerto in G Major. We can recognise in this the harmonies of the blues\, the syncopated rhythms of jazz\, and\, above all\, the fascination with the New World. – Rui Campos Leitão \n
