SUMMARY:BeethovenFest
DESCRIPTION:\\To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the man whom many consider to be the greatest composer in the History of Music\, DSCH – Shostakovich Ensemble bring you the BeethovenFest concert\, presenting their shortly to be released new album dedicated to Beethoven\, which includes his two Trios for Piano\, Clarinet and Cello\, Opus 11 and 38 \nThe op. 11 trio was composed in 1798 and was given the nickname of the Gassenhauer Trio due to the fact that its final movement is a set of variations on a theme from Joseph Weigl’s opera\, L’amor marinaro (“Gassenhauer” means a popular song). The op. 38 trio was composed in 1802-1803 and is a reworking by Beethoven himself for piano\, clarinet and cello of his famous op. 20 Septet\, a masterpiece full of optimism and fantasy.
