Through their idiosyncratic films, Bêka & Lemoine offer radically different representations of architecture through the embodied experiences of those who live within it. The filmmakers’ epic project Homo Urbanus explores the idea of the city, crossing the world to observe, collect and identify this peculiar species in its global habitat. Across films of thirteen very different cities, a curious, attentive camera places the specific and the universal in dialogue, to foreground the relationships—both to space and each other—that cities both produce and reflect.
