MasterFest II

CCB

The first part of MasterFest II of the Chamber Music Festival CLASSICAL SUMMER 2016 will be filled with the music of Mozart. This will be an occasion to hear the Flute Quartet in D Major, for flute, violin, viola and cello, and the Trio in E flat Major, for clarinet, viola and piano, known as Kegelstatt (the word referring to the place where kegeln is played, a form of bowling that Mozart played with his friends).
The second part will consist of the Portuguese première of the Duo Concertante for violin and double bass, by the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, ending with one of the most popular pieces of chamber music: Antonín Dvořák’s last Piano Trio, Dumky (the plural form, in Czech, of the word dumka, which refers to a popular song that is narrative in nature and is common to various Slavic countries).
