Karen is a refugee. In order to be able to stay in Italy, she marries a fisherman from the island of Stromboli, in Sicily. Very soon, the fact that they both have completely different mentalities leads to conflicts between the couple. Hated by the island’s inhabitants and practically ignored by her husband, Karen searches for the strength to survive in that context.

This film marked the beginning of Rossellini’s collaboration with Ingrid Bergman.

The film will be screened in Blu-ray.
