10th Cantabile Festival – Opening Concert

Under the art direction of Diemut Poppen, the Cantabile Festival – The Art of Chamber Music has enjoyed the participation of several internationally renowned artists, such as: Diemut Poppen, Alexander Lonquich, H. Schuch, Gerhild Romberger, Reinhold Friedrich, Alexander Chaushian, Pavel Gomziakov, Paolo Giacometti, Isabelle Faust, Christel Lee, Maria João Pires and Paulo Gaio Lima. The festival has also collaborated with some of Portugal’s leading institutions and orchestras, such as the Gulbenkian Orchestra or the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, and has held concerts at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Centro Cultural de Belém, the National Palaces of Sintra, Queluz and Mafra, the National Music Museum, the Convento dos Cardaes, the ruins of the Convento do Carmo, the Academia de Ciências de Lisboa and the Museum of Money, offering over 15,000 spectators more than 50 concerts at 16 different venues.

This year, at its 10th edition, from 21 to 27 September, the Cantabile Festival will be held at the Centro Cultural de Belém, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Convento dos Cardaes and Casa Pia de Lisboa, with the following soloists: Maria-Elisabeth Lott, Diemut Poppen, Pavel Gomziakov, Matan Porat, Raúl da Costa and André Baleiro.
