Complete Performance of Schubert’s Trios

DSCH - Schostakovich Ensemble

The complete set of Franz Schubert’s Trios will be presented for the first time in Lisbon, in two concerts, on 11 and 12 March 2017, performed by DSCH – Shostakovich Ensemble. For this “journey” through Schubert’s music, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro, the ensemble’s founder and artistic director, has brought together a broad spectrum of internationally acclaimed musicians, including the Swiss violinist Esther Hoppe, who will be making her debut at the CCB, and the long-awaited returns of Christian Poltéra and Isabel Charisius. This is a group of works that span the whole creative range of the great Viennese composer: beginning with his prophetic Piano Trio D. 28, which he composed at just 15 years of age, continuing with the inspired String Trios and culminating in the extraordinary Piano Trios, two masterpieces of chamber music that were composed in the penultimate year of the short life of Schubert (1797-1828), one of the most scintillating and brilliant composers in the history of music.
