Great Piano Quintets II

Jack Liebeck ©David Corfield

After the resounding success of the concert they gave on 22 February 2015, where they played the Piano Quintets Op. 44, by Robert Schumann, and Op. 81, by Antonín Dvorák, DSCH – Shostakovich Ensemble will once again be performing two Piano Quintets in just one concert: the rarely played Quintet Op. 87, by J. N. Hummel, and Franz Schubert’s highly famous Trout Quintet D. 667.

For this concert, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro has invited a range of exceptional guest musicians: the great English violinist Jack Liebeck, the highly regarded French violist Gérard Caussé, the cellist of the Jerusalem String Quartet, Kyril Zlotnikov, and his own brother Tiago Pinto-Ribeiro, the Portuguese double-bass player who has won most international awards.
