Fantastic Voyage

CCB

The closing concert of the 41st edition of the Estoril Lisboa Festival brings together the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the fado singer Katia Guerreiro and three winners of the Grammy awards, the conductor David Alan Miller, the percussionist Evelyn Glennie (both of whom were awarded Grammies in 2014), and the American composer Michael Daugherty, who won his award in 2013.

The première in Portugal of Dreamachine for percussion and orchestra (a work composed by Michael Daugherty, 2014), is joined by the fado of Katia Guerreiro and the majestic work The Fall of Constantinople by the Turkish-American composer Kamran Ince. A fantastic voyage through worlds and histories that intersect in time, performed on the CCB stage by the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
