Matilde Cid grew up in a family of musicians. Fado was a constant presence in her life and became her preferred musical genre. Endowed with a sweet and melodious voice, Matilde has a very particular approach to the Lisbon song, resulting from all the musical influences that she has had throughout her life.

In the last ten years, her singing has consistently matured and her still brief career has given her the chance to share the stage with great fado singers and musicians. One of her greatest challenges was her participation in the musical Once in Fado, in London, which earned her great critical acclaim.
Her first album – Puro, published by the Fado Museum – is set for release in September 2019.
