Dada Masilo

Dada Masilo was born in 1985, in Soweto, and studied classical and contemporary dance at the Dance Factory, in South Africa, continuing her studies at PARTS, in Brussels. She has choreographed and danced original works and her own versions of such classical ballets as Romeo and Juliet, Carmen, Swan Lake and Giselle, which she will present at the CCB’s Main Auditorium. Her work reinvents the great classics by introducing African rhythms and movements, while, at the same time, broaching such subjects as the stigma surrounding HIV, domestic violence, feminism and the woman’s role in contemporary society.
