Fábrica das Artes | for every childhood

(The Great Invasion is a lecture that happily confuses science and fantasy, creating a fraudulent form of jubilation that gently pokes fun at our way of life.)
A mother, who is giving the lecture, testifies to and documents (through photographs, illustrations and videos) her meeting with a group of mermaids and the everyday experiences that she has in their company. These mermaids caused an epidemic among those who came into contact with them in the town of Alcochete.
Delivered in the form of a clearly documented spoken report, the aim of the lecture is transformed into a request for the audience’s help: they are invited to sign a petition to free the mermaids from the supervision and protection of the National Institute for the Oceans, where they are currently housed for research purposes.
