Big Bang - Adventurous Music Festival for a Young Audience

Babel, or When we all spoke the same language

Noa Noa – Filipe Faria e Tiago Matias (PT)

… and after the first tower we built another one.
In spite of our differences – those with whom we created our worlds – we ended up building another tower. We called this one “art”… and from confusion we made beauty.
Together, we built a new tower which rises very high in the sky and goes around the world… in it we all speak the same language: music… or organized sound.
This is the importance between truth and lie. Between light and darkness… inspired by these organized sounds, which we created from an idea that is both emotional and intellectual, we built our own soundtrack, since the beginning of times, inventing new ways to make pleasant sounds to fill our days and nights with other colours… so we can understand each other.
Proof of that is a small stone raft* placed beyond the Ebro. Here, we speak many different languages – more than seven – but, together, we understand each other by singing, playing and dancing…
Delineated in the east by the Pyrenees Mountains and in the north, south and west by the sea, the Iberian Peninsula is an immense small tower… a place where we all speak different languages and where we all speak the same language.
