Written in 1886 and seen as one of the masterpieces of the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, Rosmersholm is presented in a contemporary scenic environment using new technologies.
The action takes place in Rosmersholm, an old manor house where Johannes Rosmer, a former priest who resigned after the suicide of his wife, lives. His growing liberal ideas become the object of suspicion among the community, who also resent his approach to Rebekka, a former companion of his late wife. While the relationship between these two characters deepens, Rosmer’s isolation grows in the face of the community, as well as moral, political and social pressures will dictate his fate.
