Padam Padam – a catastrophe performance will be the first production by the Prague Theatre as CCB associated artist of this season. Padam Padam tries to the utmost to weaken the hierarchies, so nobody knows where it all began. There is no cause and effect, there are no motivations, and there is only a sequence of a catastrophe followed by another. Storm, calm, storm and calm, and then storm again… Padam Padam also wants to address meteorology. It aims to bring climate inside the theatre, to experience typhoons, avalanches, and floods. We try to collapse, to break walls, we introduce nature into comfort, we fetch insects and we invade the aseptic theatre with a new community unable to define itself and to survive. We look for new diseases: if the person where the diverse bacteria and viruses are multiplying feels bad, on the other hand, these bacteria and viruses feel very well.
“Catastrophe c’est la première strophe d’un poème d’amour.” J. L. Godard
