A new The Miser, by José Maria Vieira Mendes, comes to the stage, performed by Praga Theatre. A revisit of a 1668 text, in the perspective of the conflict between two generations, using Molière’s text only as a skeleton: Vieira Mendes breaks the original structure and leaves holes, fractures, loose pieces; he mingles languages and styles, carrying out a reflection on the conflict between the April 25th post-generation and their parents’ generation. A new version of the play, free and elusive, or what one would like to read already in the original play.
