Reaching 40 years old, Wictor, the main character of Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz’s novel, will relive sensations already felt fifteen years before, during a summer holiday in the company of six girls. Back to his old seaside resort, and in the presence of the now "ladies" of Wilko, he recalls the distant period of his erotic initiation. In Les Demoiselles de Wilko, who might also be remembered in Andrej Waida’s film version, Hermanis reveals once again his hyper-realistic aesthetic, a meeting point between tradition and novelty, and the mastery that makes him one of the most prominent figures in the current European theatre scene
